“Animated Tower” Creates Analog Pixel Display Using Building Facade

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the University of Health Sciences (HESAV) in Switzerland, artist Guillaume Reymond (otherwise known as NotsoNoisy) and Trivial Mass Production created an “architectural performance” entitled “Animated Tower“, which, as its name implies, breathed life into a dull concrete bloc. Over 100 students, staff, and friends volunteered to help turn the building into a large analog display, with each of the windows made into a pixel that form the 8-bit messages. Read more.

The video shows volunteers manipulating the building’s gray window shutters to create moving patterns on the side of the facade. The building stands at 11-stories tall with rows of 10 windows per floor, creating a simple 10
