Textile factory, which was build more than 90 years ago was renovated and transformed into the patisserie shop. This is long-established patisserie in Kiryu-shi, Gunma prefecture Japan. The building has its symbolic roof with the shape of saw edge, which was hidden because of the past renovations.
Kiryu-shi has many old buildings of the saw-shaped roof.
Therefore We followed the form as cultural assets and added some modern touch to this roof and the building itself.
Patisserie Uchiyama / Takato Tamagami originally appeared on ArchDaily, the most visited architecture website on 10 Jul 2012.
