Ron Arad, the London-based Israeli industrial designer, artist, and architect, is set to add a jewel to Jerusalem’s already bedazzled skyline. His installation for the Isamu Noguchi-designed Billy Rose Art Garden at the city’s Israel Museum will feature a circular screen rising twenty-six feet into the air, for the nightly projection of films from celebrated video artists. Called 720°, the screen is viewable from both the exterior and interior of its 5,600 silicon rods, allowing different degrees of immersion in the media on view.

Originally commissioned for and on display at the Roundhouse London (and titled “Curtain Call”), 720° will show video art by Mat Collishaw, Ori Gersht, Christian Marclay, and David Shrigley, among others, in addition to surprise performances by Israeli artists in the fields of music, poetry, theater, and dance.
